Important Dish Network Installation Tips
Most satellite television networks usually provide free dish network installation as part of the subscription package. As soon as the satellite television system is shipped, the satellite television provider would inquire beforehand when is most convenient for the installation. Professional service workers from the satellite television company would go to your house to properly install the dish network and connect your television set to the satellite receiver.
But even with a professional dish network installation, it would still be advantageous, if you get to know how the disk network should be properly installed so you could double check whether or not the service worker has correctly installed the dish and this would be helpful in doing some troubleshooting whenever problems would occur in the future. First, make sure that the satellite dish is well mounted. Remind the professional installer to check whether the satellite dish is grounded for lighting and electrical protection. In order to keep cables from cluttering around the room, make sure that these are routed through the walls of your house. Finally, the receiver should be installed and connected to the phone outlet. Before the installer leaves your house, make certain that he has demonstrated on how to operate the satellite television system. While the standard installation is for free and included in the subscription package, you would be required to pay for other equipment or services that may be needed or used such as transferring telephone jacks or providing extra cables or another hardware. It is very important, therefore, to inquire from your installer about any additional components or services that may be required before the actual installation of the dish network.
However, you also need to identify which part of your house has a clear view of the southern sky where the dish network could be mounted in order to get a strong satellite signal. If you belong to a homeowner’s association, you also have to know the existing guidelines on the dish network installation and if you reside in an apartment or a rented place, be sure to get your landlord’s consent before you install the satellite television.
But even without a professional satellite installer, you can install the satellite television system all by yourself by closely doing the following steps. Once you have located the part of your house, such as a wall or on the roof, which directly faces the southern sky, mount the satellite dish within a distance of 100 feet from your television. Once you have made sure that the satellite dish has been well mounted, connect the cable wires to your television sets. Finally, do not forget to ground the dish.
Using the installation manual as a guide, connect the cable to your satellite television receivers and then attach your receiver to the telephone jack. Once you have hooked up your satellite television, you can program the signal strength menu on your satellite television receiver. Point your dish accurately by adjusting the correct direction, angle and dish rotation. This would probably take some time so you need to be patient until you get to aim your dish in the correct direction in order to get maximum signal strength.
Once you have finished doing the dish network installation, then you need to contact your satellite television provider for them to activate your subscription.
